Corsica

Established since the late 70’s FESTIVOCE is an association based in Pigna, one of the oldest and most beautiful villages of the Balagne region. With only 93 inhabitants in the winter months Pigna can be pictured as the cultural capital of Balagne. Through FESTIVOCE and other associations based in the village, the Corsican music, language and chants are promoted via artistic creations such as plays, musicals, concerts as well as traditional music tuition classes and seminars all year round.

In 2000 the Auditorium theatre was built in the village to welcome talents from all over the world along with local polyphonic music bands.

FESTIVOCE is in charge of the theatre programation and the summer festival called Estivoce (each year from 3rd to 13th July). During the Estivoce festival outdoor concerts are given each night throughout the village quaint streets and squares.

From June to September every Tuesday and Thursday evenings (only Thursdays in August) 4 local bands called Zamballarana, A Cumpagnia, L’Alba and Madrigalesca play and sing Corsican classics and creations of their own.

FESTIVOCE benefits from an experienced and very motivated team who has recently managed to export home created musicals to Spain and Portugal (and to Brazil soon).
Being an association FESTIVOCE is funded by public grants and private donations
